Recently, when the Windows 8 Comsumer Preview came out, I, like many other, wanted to give it a try.
So I downloaded the installer and installed right away, the pc rebooted, I spent some hours playing with it and I, finally, decided it was enough and wanted to come back to windows 7.
So I rebooted, waited and...the boot screen to select which OS I wanted didn't show up!
Only then, panicking, I realized I installed Windows 8 on top of Windows7!!
The Windows8 CP doesn't have a warning saying is going to install over the current OS. For that I should've downloaded the ISO image.
But, fortunately, Windows8 CP saves the previouse windows configuration: windows folder, programme files folder and users folder.
I found this guide that explains how to recover the old windows. Worked great!
